Family, children and spare time
Our first full year in the "new" house has now almost come to an end. We celebrate it with a family Christmas - we have been able to carry it out with both Sara and Jakob's family in spite of various viruses. For us, the house has become a hub and a linchpin that makes such events possible in a new way, but also makes the family united. Not only is it "downtown", which has made everyday logistics a joy, but it is also a new opportunity to meet friends and family in a more relaxed way. We now live only a stone's throw from the volleyball court, which makes our house as much a leisure center for children and a coffee house for coach friends as a house we live in - just the way we want it. But by all means, we have had several other guests also in the house spontaneously who have just been spontaneously really super-fun. We hope for more of this in 2022!
Now to the children: Ingrid, 18, who is "a year behind" after her stay in the US, is now in her second year of swedish high school. A large part of her life revolves around school, but that said another large part also revolves around volleyball as she has taken on a group of young boys to coach in addition to her own 2. division womens team. The most important memory must be the Swedish Championship Gold in Senior-Quidditch. Something that shed had not trained for at all- but she is now qualified for the European Championships in Poland as Beater. Axel, 14, lives, eats and breathes sports. Not only is Berzeliusskolan's junior highscool sports profile, he has made his 1. Division debut this year. Has finally surpassed the height of the rest of the family and is now the talles, however not the heaviest. CJ (Cajsa), 10, is also involved in sports - through gymnastics and balls of all sorts and is also starting to find "her swing" with all that a new school means. And - we can not leave out our newest family member the Örebro volleyball player and LiU student Nathalie Arvidson who has moved to Linköping and eats Sunday dinners with us most of the time. A wonderful addition to the family.
All in all, Algulins has become a real volleyball family - when asked if we were not already that before, maybe we were, but now it's starting to get a little serious ;-) Many types of sports' big drop of attendance during the pandemic seems to be invertedly in proportion to "our" sport. Rarely has there been such a large influx of active young people to the gymnasiums. With that a wonderful amount of new relationships and individuals we get to know. One can only be happy.
BUT - there is still a lot of time left to fill and we are really looking forward to filling that time with you.
